There's 2 ways you can look at it.
You can just try to make beats whenever you're bothered or feel like you have enough inspiration.
OR...
You can do your best to get better at making beats.
I had a class in college that was taught by 9th Wonder (yes, the legend).
Something he said really stuck with me.
When he talked about how he and his group Little Brother came up in the late '90s and early '00s, he said the most important thing they did was make a sh*t ton of music and put it out.
The internet was just coming out and he took full advantage.
A year later when I listened to his production on Kendrick's DAMN, my jaw dropped as I yelled to my roommates, "HOW IS THIS MAN STILL THIS COLD 🥶??"
Now, of course, those plebs didn't understand my excitement over the production (jk, I love them - but they were 100% looking at me funny 😂).
But I think the answer to my question is that producers like 9th Wonder put in work.
Simple.
Period.
Like they aren't worried about that measly 10,000 hours.
That's light.
Expected.
Impied.
Nah, these are the guys going for 100,000 hours or more.
These are the guys in it for life, for the love, and for the pursuit of passion.
If you wanna get better, just make more beats bro.
And I personally recommend doing that with Centerfold 👑.
