Yoo homie
I’m already 4 beats deep for day 47 😤 (I’ll be back on stream later)
But when I was working out this morning I thought about a mixing gem that literally no one talks about..
Protecting your ears!!
First of all, you LITERALLY need them to mix (cause you need to hear, duh).
& super high volumes can damage the f*** out of your ears bro. Permanent hearing loss and tinnitus (never ending ear ringing) are just a few things that can happen when you expose your ears to too much loudness.
The other reason this is important is because your mix needs to sound good at all levels. Not only when it’s loud (everything sounds good if you just make it loud - that's not the solution)
TL;DR --> Mixing at low levels will 1) protect your ears; 2) teach you how to catch new aspects of your mixing style; 3) ensure your mix sounds balanced at all levels.
Peep this mixing tut if you wanna learn more gems about this topic (& this drum programming tut is helpful too)
Blessings,
Chu
