3 ways to become a better drum programmer (day 46)

a song a day chu daily songs Apr 16, 2023

Yoo homie

Just got back form the coffee shop & I'm finna hop on stream and get to work - same goals as yesterday.

But I wanna give you 3 quick tips for better drum programming cause I been getting hella questions about it form the gang.

  1. use better quality drum samples (this is just gonna fix a lot of issues at once so pls do it) - peep the 🆓 4TEEN V2 update for new hard drum samples.
  2. mix better (you won't stop being a noob till you take mixing serious tbh) - peep this mixing tut if you need help w/ that.
  3. emulate your idols (there are no new ideas under God's Sun bro... just copy ppl and then create your style from there) - NOTE: try your best to be ethical and credit ppl where necessary.
  4. BONUS: use one collection of sounds so you develop a signature like Wheezy or Metro (that's why I'm always using the centerfold drum kit)

Blessings,

Chu
