okay, so, boom - three main concepts;
- The big 3 (a leveling concept).
- EQ (an FX concept).
- Blending (a concept of relativity).
The big three addresses the three elements of your beat that should be most present;
- Low-end (kick, 808, bass, etc.), which should be leveled loudest,
- The main snare, which should be leveled second loudest, and
- The melody (or lead vox, if you're mixing a full song), which is least loud of the big 3 BUT still the 3rd most present element of your mix.
