You can’t afford to mess up the melody because it’s the most important part of the beat.
But how can you consistently make good melodies?
Here's the sauce… 😏
Professional producers understand the importance of making the melodies catchy.
And there’s a simple way to do this.
Just build them around simple catchy chords.
One of the catchiest dark chord progressions in all of trap music is the minor harmonic 1-7.
We know that these are all the notes in the minor harmonic scale.
From there, we figure out the 7 chords that can be built from these notes.
And once you know the chords, all you have to do is put them together however you see fit.
So we make a 1 chord.
Then a 7 with an extra note on top for TENSION.
And that's pretty much it!
And it’s a really dope chord progression, especially for dark Travis Scott vibes.
From there, you can switch the instruments.
And even add drums from the Centerfold Drum Kit 🔥.
