  • Purpose - adding warmth (to turn on the warmth of your track). Warmth = “Heat”, "Saturation."

    • Altec 1567A Mixer Amplifier emulation (inexpensive sources for a real-life tube front end).
    • Emulates OG 60’s Motown sound.
    • Treble and bass are EQ knobs [ impulse response ].
  • The circuit

    • Input - controls drive level into tube #1, Controls gain of signal into Radiator, saturation increases with increase in gain. The signal then goes to the tone stack.
    • MIC / LINE SWITCH - selects the frequency response mode. The Mic and Line modes represent the differences in behavior observed with a 150ohm impedance (Mic) vs. 600ohm (Line) signal.
    • NOISY / CLEAN SWITCH - toggles presence of noise.
    • Bass - control bass frequency response.
    • Treble - control treble frequency response.
    • OUTPUT - output gain (manual suggests to turn down instead of increasing. Controls output of signal after being processed by the first tube but before entering the dry/wet mix signal processor.
    • The Mix control - allows for parallel processing to occur directly within Radiator without the need for external bussing. The ability to parallel process is derivative from the OG hardware (but is very handy).
    • Heat Meter - a VU meter, displays ‘heat amount’
